The 2020 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards is set to kick-off for the year 2020 as the date has been announced by the CEO of Charterhouse.
Following the recent announcement made by the Ghanaian president, Akufo Addo, which has eased the lockdown following the necessary preventive measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus. With respect to these, the Charterhouse has decided to take advantage of this to kick off the 2020 VGMA awards which have been scheduled for August 2020 as announced by the CEO of the Charterhouse, Mrs. Theresa Ayoade.
During her recent interviews on Joy News, She said on Beyond the Lockdown that her team is re-strategizing to bring the best of entertainment to viewers in August regardless of the problems they may face.
“The challenges of putting together logistics and not being sure of expected revenue is a real issue. In normal times, we will have been able to sell up to 4,000 tickets in VGMA-related events, but it is not so now,” Mrs Ayoade told Emefa Apawu, host of the show.
Furthermore, she explained that, as organizers, Charterhouse is looking into utilizing the digital space as well as new guidelines for events put forth by the Tourism Ministry. Unlike the 3Music Awards, the 2020 VGMA will have a live audience but with the needed social distancing and health protocols, she said.
